Just 16 Days until Mother's Day!!

I'm a Mom and I'm so happy that there is a special day to celebrate all of us who fill this awesome role! I have lost my Mom and several others whom I honored on this day but the memory of their love still fills my heart to the brim!

Have you registered for the Make Mine Pink Mother's Day Shop Hop? There is a clickable link to the left of this post......go see what it is all about! There are some wonderful prizes to be won!

Grandma G's has some beautiful items for Mom in the Holiday Hutch category.......
how about a lovely vintage tablecloth, a pretty ceramic rose vase, or one of our BIGBOTTOMBAGS?!! Gifts ordered by May 7th will be there for Mother's Day!

Thought I'd share a wonderful recipe for Mother's Day Brunch! This is to be prepared the night before, refrigerated and then baked just before brunch!!

FRENCH TOAST SOUFFLE
16 oz. cream cheese 16 slices of French bread, trim crusts & cube
12 eggs 2 cups milk 1/2 cup maple syrup
nutmeg and cinnamon
Put a layer of 1/2 of the French bread cubes in the bottom of a 9 X 13 baking pan. Cube cream cheese and place on top of the bread cubes. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon. Add the remaining bread cubes on top. Beat eggs, add milk and maple syrup; pour over top of bread and cheese. Refrigerate overnight.
Heat oven to 375 *F. Sprinkle more cinnamon and nutmeg on top and bake for 45 minutes. Serve with warmed maple syrup.
Yummmmmm!!

.........and another go-with recipe!!

LITTLE SMOKIES
1 lb. Little Smokies 3/4 box of brown sugar 1 lb. bacon
Cut bacon slices in thirds. Wrap each Little Smokie with bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle generously with brown sugar.
Bake 2 hours at 250*F
*These are also great as an appetizer!*

Whatever your tradition, eat at home, go to a favorite place for brunch, lunch or dinner; may you each enjoy a wonderful day with those you love the most!!

Time for Show and Tell Monday!!

One of our pink sisters at Make Mine Pink suggested that we all have Show and Tell Mondays on our blogs! A fun idea that reminds me of my long ago days in elementary school.......everyone brought their favorite toy, book or story to share with the class!
Well class, today is my first Show and Tell Monday so come see what I have to share.......

Not being a crafty person, I cannot post photos of my latest creative endeavor but I have been busy for a few days restoring linens!! Watch for these items to be listed at Grandma G's very soon!

The stack of tablecloths and other linens on top of my washing machine will next be ironed, photoed and then listed for all to see! By the way, I never machine wash or dry vintage linens!!! These old fibers can easily be destroyed by some of our 'modern' cleaning methods!
Since I was in the laundry room so much the past few days I decided to also show and tell the room!!

Here is part of my vintage laundry collection on the wall to the left of my washer/dryer. Don't you love the stocking dryers??!!

This cabinet stores, behind the glass doors, more of my vintage treasures, part of my teapot collection, vases, etc. The three bins always end up full of things that don't belong there as well as my iron and other small supplies!! The solid doors at the bottom hide away all the laundry supplies. By the way, where else would you store three large pumpkins?!

Ahhhh, my favorite.....the deep utility sink where I soak those vintage linens.....at least I have a nice view out the window when I stand there to work! On the left is a garden trellis mounted to the wall to hold some of my vintage appliqued tea towels.....LOVE the whimsy!!

Here are the cornice boxes above the two windows in the room yet another place to display more vintage laundry treasures. The two name plates hung in my mother-in-law's kitchen; there are actually four in the set and we have the ones for my hubby, Chris, and his Dad, Clifford. Sis-in-law has hers and the one for Mom!!

Hope you have enjoyed your peek into my favorite room and I invite you all to come over with your irons and help with those linens!!
See you next week for Show and Tell Monday! Please visit Grandma G's to find your own treasures!!
