Things to Look Forward to at Grandma G's!!
Autumn is my favorite time of year! After several 90 degree + days here in So California it now looks and feels like autumn is finally here.....of course, tomorrow could be looking and feeling summer-like again.....it's California after all!!
As the year winds down toward 2009, we will all too quickly run through Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas.....why does it all have to go at breakneck speed? Anyway, before the time gets away from me I thought I'd share some upcoming fun stuff at Grandma G's!
Very soon, a new category......or, actually, a change to an existing one is coming!! Yard Sale will soon present products at unbelievably low prices.....some as low as $1.00 and none more than $10.00!! Still excellent, useful, items in good condition but it is Yard Sale season and we are cleaning off the shelves!!
My wonderful BigBottomBags will be leaving.....the ones listed are the last that will be available....boo hoo! The wonderful seamstress and designer of these great bags, Lynne Park, is now selling her bags in a B&M store! Good for you, Lynne and best of luck!! So, if you want one, you'd better get it soon!!
I have already shared that I have a new Guest Artist, Suzanne Maust, but I also want to share a lovely photo of her and, in her words, share a little about the lady who makes such pretty treasures!! So, introducing, Suzanne!!
"Suzanne Maust, a mother and grandmother of two lives with her husband in Northern California. Among many hobbies Suzanne has a passion for beautiful vintage linens with European cutwork, embroidery, tatting, crocheting and the like.
Having inherited from her grandmother and mother an interest and talent for sewing and design, she was eager to preserve family memories by sewing usable items that were made from her own ancestors’ linen closets. These dresser scarves, hankies, tablecloths and bedding pieces had been hidden in chests and closets for too long. Suzanne began creating items for her nieces, siblings, children and grandchildren incorporating beautiful family linens she had received from several generations of mothers.
Although she specializes in lovely Tea/Coffee cozies that keep beverages fresh and hot, she also creates elegant lingerie bags, jewelry pouches, infant skirts, personalized infant blankets and adorable totes incorporating these beautiful antique fabrics.
Suzanne also loves to create custom items using pieces of your own vintage linens or chosen fabric." (This is such a wonderful idea....perhaps you have a special family heirloom that you'd like made into a cozy for another family member or a beautiful lingerie bag for a new bride....the possibilities are limitless!!)

COME TO HARVEST HOME.....SHOPPING WITH A TWIST!!
On Friday, September 12th join Grandma G and the boutiques at Make Mine Pink for this week's Pink Friday themed shopping with a twist!!
When I think of a Harvest Home it conjures up many memories of my favorite time of year. Memories of cinnamon potpourri simmering on the stove, homemade apple pies in the oven from apples hand-picked at our local orchard and memories of family and friends gathered around the fire sipping hot spiced cider and making plans for the upcoming Holiday season.
A glance out the window, framed like a fine painting, reveals the tree lined streets ablaze with colors so rich and vibrant that it beckons you out of the cozy warmth of your home to explore and experience every nuance of the season. The crisp fall air surrounds and teases you with the a waft of smoke from a neighboring chimney. It becomes a game, guessing the type of wood burning, each with their own distinct fragrance.
Every color and scent of the season brings a flood of old memories and begins painting new.
You quicken your step to get home. Home to the cozy and inviting warmth of the fire softly glowing in the hearth of your Harvest Home..... Joyce Lucas.
Go to Make Mine Pink to see the list of participating boutiques and don't forget to shop at Grandma G's for fun fall decor!! Get there early so you don't miss out on a special treasure!
