SHOW AND TELL.....FLEA MARKET FIND!
A couple of weeks ago DH and I went to the Ventura Flea Market! What a fun day-trip. It is about a 2 hour drive from home but well-worth the time and effort to get there. This was my first time there.....beautiful....very near the beach (see the water in photo background?), and we will definitely go again!!
I found a few small treasures and this sweet bird cage and stand! Now come the decisions......to paint, or not to paint? if yes, what color? and the real big question.....do I want to keep or sell?!!! Any opinions?
Another high point of the day was meeting Jennifer Grey and her sweet Mom! For those who may not know.....Jennifer is the owner of
If you haven't visited her....you must! Her website is full of the most beautiful eye-candy and don't miss 'The Cottage of the Month'!! So nice to meet you, Jennifer!!
PS.....Ladies, the birdcage is actually robins egg blue! I can see why several of you have thought it is white from the photos....but it's blue!!
Have a great week!

OMG!!! It is fantastic, what a find!! I'd want that beauty painted for my home or yard ... can't you just picture it filled w/beautiful plants outside, or pink floral arrangements, or a plate on a stand w/teapot & teacup draped w/gloves surrounded by vintage victorian lace in your special room? I'd never let this one go ... glad you had such a lovely time.
If you ever run across feedsack fabrics down your way, do contact me. I am always looking for them.
Hope your Ester was fun & blessed.

That is one heck of a find you lucky duck! I love it. Of course I would paint it pink but white would look beautiful too.

P.S. I would have a very hard time parting with that bird cage. I've been known to live with something for quite some time then sell it at a later date. :)
Hi Georgia,,, what a gorgeous day! I love the bird cage, I would not sell it!lol, the white is pretty, but I could see it pretty pastel colors too! Such descions. I am off to visit Jennifers website. I hope you get to visit the Ventura flea market again soon!
Hugs, gail
Georgia, you are a lucky girl, what a find! I think it is a keeper, color I don't know but you can always change that.....Isn't Ventura great, I have been there several time for Hot Rod/Bike shows but never for Flea Market. I love Jennifer's site, she has so many neat things all the time.
Hugs, Helene
That is one gorgeous find, Georgia. I think you may have to keep that one, lol. I think a pretty floral vignette with birds or faeries in the cage would be pretty. The color would depend on what room you're putting it in. It doesn't look bad as is, though. Think I might leave it as is.

That birdcage & stand is out-of-this-world gorgeous. I wouldn't paint it; I love how it looks in white. It's so perfectly petite!
What a brilliant find, such a pleasure when you find items like this and the day looked lovely and sunny for you searching.
The birdcage was pretty! I also thought it was white until I took a close look and discovered it was in a robins egg blue :) It is really stunning!

What a great find! I do so enjoy going to the flea markets. It had to be great fun and a special surprise running into your MMP sister. Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
Oh Georgia, what a lovely birdcage, and the color sets it apart!
Ohhhh- I wanna go!!!
And I thought I was nuts, cause I am going to drive to Palmdale for an estate sale on Friday. Ventura is just as far! SO we're both nuts!!
I think the cage is a keeper - if you do paint it, it depends on where you are putting it. Keep us posted!!
HAGD! Karen
Ohhhhhh I am green with envy!!! How lucky is that! Hugs!
