SOMETHING ELSE IN MY HOUSE.......

This is one of my favorite photos in my home. It is my Mom at age three.....wasn't she cute? For years I heard about this photo from my Mom.....she remembered it hanging in her childhood home and always wondered where it had gone.

In 1991, my Great Aunt Frances passed away. My Aunt Jo (Mom's sister) and I went to Indiana to go through Frances' home and during that visit I found Mom's photo, all dusty and a little warped. I brought it home and had it restored and framed for her for Mother's Day! I think it was one of the few times I surprised her with something she really loved!! Now that Mom is gone, it hangs in my home.

Be sure to click the Things In My House Thursday link on the left sidebar to visit all the other participating blogs ! Thanks for visiting Grandma G's....see you next Thursday!

Warm hugs!

Georgia, I luv your posting! Good things do come back to you! You gave a very thoughtful gift to your mother, and now you have it to enjoy, for many wonderful memories!
I know what this means...I had reupholstered a vintage wooden chair for my mother in law when she had asked me one time.
Later, when I came across an wooden antique footstool, I cleaned it up, made a cushion on top, and upholstered it to match her chair. My hubby and I gave this to his parents on their anniversary. This was one of the few times I saw her cry, and she was at a loss for words!
When she was in poor health, in her later years, she gave us the chair and stool. She died not too long afterward. These I will never part with....

Georgia, I love the photo of your Mom. I went trough boxes of photos when I was home the last time and brought some with me back.
So you did not knew I could sew, I'm a person with many hidden talents but an expert at none, LOL! I would love to have lunch sometime even if you not win, maybe the other SoCal girls would like to join?? Good Luck in the drawing!
Peace & Luv, Helene
