RIP Riley.......

We have just returned from the vet's office where we had to put our sweet, loving, yellow Lab, Riley to sleep at 11 yrs 9 mo of age.

February 25, 1999- November 09, 2010

Riley was my kids first dog; adopted into the family when he was just a clumsy 4 month old puppy. He was a gentle giant, weighing more than 100 pounds, and he's spent the last month gradually going downhill physically. So difficult to see his big brown eyes looking so sad, almost saying, "please help". So today we did. He is running free in no more pain and went to sleep gently with me softly petting his soft, silky ears...

We will miss you Riley and love you always....

Oh Georgia,I am so sorry. It is so hard to lose a pet because they become part of our family. I lost my Basset last year and still miss him and have his picture on my desk. I am happy I was so fortunate to have had him in my live. He made it so much fuller. Take care.

It's so hard having to let go like that. It's also the most loving thing you can do when they're in so much pain. I'll have to do it soon with one of my dogs and I can hardly stand it. I'm sorry for your loss.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. They are part of the family and it is so hard to let them go. I had a german shepherd for 14 years and I still remember the pain when I had to put her down in 1988.
I am sorry :(

Oh Georgia, I'm so sorry about Riley. We also have a lab - a chocolate, and we rescued her last year - our kids' first puppy too.

Dear sweet Georgia,
many hugs to you and yours. You and Riley were blessed to have one another. One day we will all be able to see our beloved pets and run and play with them again.

Thinking of you,
Deanna
